Peru: Part 2 (The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu)

Part 2 of our Peru post is mostly about the Inca Trail, or 4 days and 3 nights of what we’d both describe as one of the hardest hikes we’ve done so far in our lives. The payoff of this journey would be a visit to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu.

Peru: Part 1 (Lima & Cusco)

Peru was such a last minute trip. Our main purpose of visiting was to see the famous Machu Picchu, but this first part of the post covers our time in Lima where we ate at fancy restaurants and our time in Cusco where we acclimated to high elevations and visited religious sites. And alpacas! Really cute alpacas.

W Trek – Torres del Paine, Patagonia

To see Torres del Paine is to see what beauty our earth has to offer at the edge of civilization. Aside from the views is the experience itself, a 50 mile hike over 5 days/4 nights. I left it not only with some nice pictures but also a gratifying sense of accomplishment.

Lake District, Chile

Chile’s Lake District consists of luscious green forests, waterfalls, volcanoes and obviously lakes. While that’s all a true story, we feel the area is not much different from the natural resources we can easily access in the U.S, aside from the volcanoes.
